Music Today … Why It Doesn’t Suck
Why it doesn;t suck
The Entertainment Community Fund (ECF) describes its mission as “providing a safety net for performing arts and entertainment professionals.”
When the Los Angeles-based organization started to explore upgrading its site’s audio/video quality, it found a safety net of its own in KMH Integration, a Brooklyn, N.Y, system integrator with a long track record of supporting customers in the A/V, media and entertainment industries with consulting, design and integration services.
The Entertainment Community Fund (formerly known as The Actors Fund), provides “human services” nationally to address the health and wellness needs of professionals working in film, theater, television, music, opera, radio and dance. ECF offers a broad spectrum of programs, a calendar of workshops, support groups, online resources and emergency financial assistance, all administered through its offices in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. The portal allows creative professionals to interact with one another for support or recommend health service providers. The ECF also serves as a career resource, helping professionals network, learn about opportunities and share experiences.
KMH Integration is beginning the first phase of its work with ECF by outfitting the Los Angeles and New York offices with remote cameras, live streaming capabilities and enhanced audio processing.
“We’re providing the technology needed to produce the content that gets published on and accessed through the ECF portal,” said Kevin Henneman, principal of KMH Integration. “We’re working closely with their in-house developers to ensure they can produce and deliver high-quality content through stable and reliable streaming – all to support its extremely critical mission of ensuring that any member seeking physical or mental health assistance will be able to get the help they need.”
A second project phase will involve KMH managing and integrating a construction project for a new ECF location in Los Angeles.
